Registration for the 2025 HYAA Travel Baseball Tryouts is now open.

Don’t miss the opportunity to wear Holmdel Blue and be a member of a Holmdel Hornets Travel Baseball Team. Holmdel Travel Baseball Teams play on NJ’s premier, state of the art, turf fields at Phillips Park. HYAA Baseball will be conducting tryouts for age groups 7U through 12U for teams that will compete in leagues and tournaments from Fall 2025 through Spring/Summer 2026. Highlights include a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for our 12U teams to compete in a national tournament at Cooperstown – home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Teams from all age groups can also represent Holmdel in the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken District Tournament and participate in other local and regional events such as The Ripken Experience Tournament.

Tryouts will be conducted by independent evaluators, who will be assessing players on their baseball skills including, but not limited to, throwing, catching, fielding infield/outfield, batting, and running. Tryouts for travel baseball teams are competitive, and not all participants are guaranteed placement on a team roster. If registration numbers are sufficient to roster more than one team at an age group, multiple teams may be formed at such age group.

Tryouts for all age groups will be conducted over two days, June 9th and June 11th, at Phillips Park Lower and Upper fields, 110 Telegraph Hill Rd, and each session should last approximately one hour. While each player is required to attend at least one of the tryout dates for roster consideration, attending both dates is strongly recommended. If a player cannot attend the tryout dates posted, please contact the HYAA office at admin@hyaa.org in advance of the tryouts. All tryout participants are required to register via Teamsnap prior to the tryout registration closing deadline of June 4th.

Please see the schedule below for time slots for each age group. Participants are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time slot in order to sign in, warm up, and be ready to play if evaluations are ahead of schedule. All players should come to tryouts with the necessary equipment which includes a baseball glove, batting helmet, bat, and cleats/turf shoes.

Please refer to the age and grade requirement tables listed below in order to register for the appropriate team as NJ baseball is age based, not grade based, and uses a May 1st cutoff date.
